Choose 1 option below for a single-day or more than 1 option for a multi-day itinerary. You may customize your tour by adding or mixing and matching options, if desired. Customize It!

Getaway #1 or 2 are the standard options; 4 other tour options are available:

  1. Getaway #1: North Coast Loop tour (Portland to Astoria to Seaside/Cannon Beach to Portland) - 10 hour loop tour (with an 8 hour out & back option)

    • Astoria town & historic Waterfront (Astoria Column, Historic Trolley, Maritime Museum, Rogue Brewery, Bumble Bee Cannery Museum, the Flavel House Museum, Cape Disappointment/Lighthouse and/or North Head Lighthouse etc.)

    • Gearhart & Seaside (historic boardwalk & aquarium),

  2. Getaway #2: Mid-Coast Loop tour (Portland to Seaside/Cannon Beach to Tillamook to Portland) 10 hour loop tour (with an 8 hour out & back option)

  • Ecola State Park & Tillamook Head, Tillamook Rock Light House

  • Cannon Beach & Haystack Rock

  • Oswald West State Park, Manzanita, Wheeler, Garibaldi, Rockaway Beach

  • Cape Meares (hands-on lighthouse experience), Octopus Tree & 'Big Spruce', the largest Sitka Spruce in Oregon

  • Tillamook Cheese Factory, Blue Heron French Cheese Co. (Wine Tasting & Cheese) or Air Museum (as time permits)

  1. Getaway #3: Mid-Coast Loop tour (Portland to Tillamook to Oceanside to Lincoln City to Portland and includes the 3 Capes Scenic Route: Cape Mears, Cape Lookout and Cape Kiwanda) - 10 hours

  • Three Capes Scenic Route (Cape Meares (lighthouse), Cape Lookout, Cape Kiwanda)

  • Coastal villages of Oceanside, Netarts Bay, Bayocean, Tierra Del Mar, Pacific City

  • Cascade Head Preserve

  1. Getaway #4: South Central Coast Loop tour (Portland to Lincoln City to Newport to Portland) 10 hours

    • Lincoln City

    • Cascade Head

    • Depoe Bay (whale watching; boat charters; storm watching)

    • Yaquina Head lighthouse, Yaquina Bay lighthouse

    • Newport (Historic Bayfront & Nye Beach, world-class Oregon Coast Aquarium)

  2. Getaway #5: Portland to the North Coast (Portland to Astoria to Portland) with Fall Wildlife option 8-10 hours

  • Highway 30 to the Coast; the road less traveled

  • Astoria town & historic Waterfront (Astoria Column, Historic Trolley, Maritime Museum, Rogue Brewery, Bumble Bee Cannery Museum, the Flavel House Museum, Cape Disappointment/Lighthouse and/or North Head Lighthouse etc.)

  1. Getaway #6: South Coast Loop tour ('The Rugged Side of the Coast' - Portland to Newport to Florence to Portland)  13-14 hours or overnight (recommended); great for winter storm watching too.

  • Newport (world-class Oregon Coast Aquarium)

  • Waldport-Yachats (pronounced "YAH-hots")

  • Cape Perpetua National Scenic Area, Visitor's Center & the Captain Cook trail (tide pools, spouting Horn, Cook's Chasm & Devil's Churn).

  • Heceta Head Lighthouse (the most scenic lighthouse in the world!)

  • Florence (world's largest sea cave, the Sea Lion Caves)

REQUIREMENTS (TRAIL & BEACH HIKING):

* Hiking any trails on the Oregon coast is not for the faint of heart.  Trails may be muddy and marked by steep drop-offs.  Trails may or may not be easy; wear layers for wind and/or rain and have a waterproof/windproof jacket and sensible shoes for mud and headgear.  Bring binoculars!  Taking any hike may extend your tour time, and this implies additional cost, please inquire.

The Oregon Coast tour is usually about 10 hours long. Hiking options may extend your tour time and add tour cost.  Multi-day itineraries are available.  Any admission/park fees at any tour stops are the responsibility of the tour group.  Museum, aquarium or lighthouse stops are self-guided or staff guided by the docent at the facility. Your private tour may be customized as needed or desired.  Just let us know what your interests are (from the sublime to the wacky, we don't care) and we will do the rest for you.  You can make it a 2 or 3 day event with our multi-day itineraries by combining any of the tours above, please inquire. 

What to bring?

  1. Warm (or cool in summer), comfortable shoes/clothing.  For wintertime tours; bring rain wear/boots.

  2. Telescope or Binoculars (We typically have several sets of binoculars available but we recommend bringing your own if possible.)

  3. Camera
